While newborn sessions are best done before the baby is 21 days old, older newborns take some gorgeous pictures just the same! In my experience as a Dallas Newborn Photographer, after 21 days old I do not expect newborns to sleep, but if they do it’s just icing on the cake. They are mostly awake which can be quite the challenge when trying to get them to lay still or look a certain direction, but usually a nice wrap can help with that! One amazing thing to see in older newborn portraits is their interaction with their parents during the family pictures. They recognize mom and dad by now and visibly relax in their safe arms!
