Fun outings in the Dallas area to celebrate America’s birthday

Next week marks one of my favorite times of the year- Independence Day! Nothing says America best than heading out and enjoying some quality family time around the Dallas area. I compiled a brief listing of area events to help you get started so you don’t have to do the research when it comes time to put on all that red, white and blue! 

City of Richardson’s annual Family 4th Celebration 

When: Festivities start at 6 p.m. July 4th and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. 

Where: Breckinridge Park, 3555 Brand Road 

Cost: Free

All American 4th – Plano

When: Celebration begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 4th and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. 

Where: Parking is at Collin College, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway 

Cost: Free- Food and beverages will be available for purchase

Red, White and Boom! – McKinney

When: The fun begins at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 4th with fireworks at 9:45 p.m. 

Where: Gabe Nesbitt Community Park, 7001 Eldorado Parkway 

Cost: Free

Red, White & You – Garland

When: Kicking off at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 with a light and drone show at 9:30 p.m. 

Where: Downtown Garland Square 

Cost: Free

Independence Day Celebration – Dallas

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, June 29 with fireworks kicking off at 9:40 p.m. 

Where: Klyde Warren Park, 2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway 

Cost: Free

Fair Park Fourth – Dallas

When: 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4th with fireworks at dark 

Where: Fair Park, 3809 Grand Avenue 

Cost: Free

Kaboom! Town – Addison

When: Party begins at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 with fireworks launching around 9:30 p.m. 

Where: Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle 

Cost: General Admission tickets are $10. Children under two are free and ages 2-9 are $5. However, many area businesses and restaurants host watch parties.
