In August 1995, the journey of KidBiz began when Janet and Jay Finegold acquired a small 1,200 square foot boutique in the Dallas Park Cities neighborhood. Janet, equipped with 11 years of experience in buying for Foley’s and 6 years in the wholesale industry with Polo Ralph Lauren, proved to be the perfect owner to elevate the original concept to new heights.
Driven by their ambition to offer more than just children’s clothing, Jay and Janet Finegold expanded their vision. In August 1998, they built a store twice the size next to the original location. Then, in October 1999, they broke through to the old space and launched TheBiz, catering to the fashion needs of teen girls and young adults. With these expansions in place, Jay joined Janet in overseeing the operations of both KidBiz and TheBiz.
