During the summer I love to incorporate water into my family photo shoots so everyone stays cool and happy. On top of that, kids playing in water is pretty adorable. Beaches
When it comes to water-inspired family photo shoots, beaches are classic choices. But we are in Dallas! Aren’t we landlocked, you ask? Not so fast! Would you believe we have a few “fake” beaches in the area? Just north of Dallas in Little Elm hides this perfect beach setting for fun beach inspired photos! These photos can be romantic or crazy fun with kids splashing and playing.
Creeks
If you are in the mood for something a little more rustic and serene then a creek is what you need! There are many creeks in the DFW area that make for beautiful family photo backgrounds. While creeks are amazing there are many safety precautions that must be taken. Some creeks are incredibly slippery and must be covered in pebbles before you can safely take pictures in there.
Splash Pads
If you’re seeking a fun and energetic vibe for your water-inspired photo shoot, look no further than a splash pad! My favorite is right in the middle of downtown Dallas at Klyde Warren Park. We spend the first half of the session dry and then let the littles play in the water at the end! The fun mix of nature and skyscrapers makes this a very unique family photo setting!
Swimming Pools

Whether it’s a luxurious rooftop pool, a community pool, or even your own backyard oasis, pools offer a variety of possibilities. From capturing playful splashes and underwater shots to stylish poolside fashion shoots, we can experiment with different angles, props and lighting techniques to create unique and eye-catching images.
Ice Cream Trucks
It’s not water, but it sure does cool you off! Think of the days when colorful ice cream trucks roamed the neighborhood singing their song for all the children to hear! It really doesn’t get any cuter than this. The family photos we can create with ice cream are not only fun for all, but can be tasty too!
